These are very lightweight (even a little lighter than i expected) but still quite durable. The design is very festive and being made out of melamine means worry free when feeding the kids.

Melamine is sturdy, no broken plates under foot. Perfect for parties where adults will be milling around and plates are more likely to be dropped. Perfect plates for christmas eve luncheon for extended family.

The lenox plates are nicely weighted and are thicker than our old set. I like how these melamine plates coordinate so well with the other lenox holiday china patterns.

Since we have seven kids i generally have the younger ones use plain cream color plates. The edge comes off the table about half half-an-inch, providing plenty of area for sauces or juices to gather in the center.

These plates are plastic even though the description says ceramic. Order is not returnable.
