I ended up purchasing a second mold so that i could pour the entire cycle at the same time

Instead you have to make them twice so you can do a full cycle and it can be tricky to recreate the second to match the first

The two moon phases are two separate sizes so if working with resin you would to let the first set of each size cure then pour another set of th exact same mold
