More precisely a newborn or up to the age of 3 months they cannot support their head and in this car seat they tends to bend head forward which is not safe

I firstly got another make but almost exactly like this lettas one the buckle mechanism broke on 4th use so it was returned with no problem

I had to use it rear facing for a month until the baby was old enough to forward face and the tether was an absolute pain to use also no real information about using the tether when how long for forward facing as well as rear etc i asked a lot of questions here and one kind man actually told me the answer in amongst a sea of dont knows

As with all full harness restraints when the child is nearing the weight limit where you have to switch to the car belt it becomes more difficult to fasten the mechanism
