I love this product we have 5 strips and are using these to lower our hydro bill.
It cannot provide for a ground pin because there is no ground in a bulb socket (just hot and neutral, which may or may not be grounded).
Keep in mind that it only handles two prong plugs.

It's cheaper than canadian tire and can even be delivered to my home.
