Pros
It's well made and not rinky-* like a lot of others. This switch feels more durable than original.
The leviton switch functions perfectly. Worked flawlessly. Wiring is easy, and works great. The instructions are adequate, with pictures, though it is useful to have a pair of wire strippers.
Replaced the original rotary wheel switch. If you don't want to mess around with flimsy clip-on rotary switches, this is the one you want. Great replacement switch for an ikea bedside lamp.
The housing is configured to clamp down on a 2 wire cord. Cut you cord, splice power into 2 leads, connect to switch, possible shorten ground if needed. Worked safely and easily for a range of gauges of lamp cord.
Cons
The switch is un-necessarily large to the point of being grossly oversize. Took cover back off and used a continuity checker. Switch clicked but no good.

The only criticism i have is the overall size of the switch is a little big at least for application… i replaced a rotary switch on a vintage lamp cord and it is a bit bulky however the installation was super easy and the construction of the component seems of very high quality so i felt the review should still be a 5 star

One of the switches was actually hot due to the humid environment and poor electrical connection inside the original switch

I have also put this switch in the middle of 2 extension cords for devices that did not have onoff switches and were therefore always on a phonograph preamp and the led lighting for a small toy train village after checking that the 2 devices current draws were minimal

The lamp my wife ordered came with a cheap chinese switch with very vague actuation

Also chinese it had positive actuation but the thumbwheel was so stiff my wife could not turn it and it left grooves in my thumb when i tried it
