Quality

As always, this is made with typical leviton quality and clean design.

Easy to install, very high quality receptacle.

There is a trick with the test buttons: the reset one is not strictly mechanical but rather electromechanical; you have to hold...  Read More

I did not know what an arc fault interruptor was until i saw this product.

Packaging/appearance

I bent the black and the white wires around the back of the receptacle so that they are folding as i'm pushing the receptacle into the box.

Competitiveness

I needed these to meet the 2015 nec.

A great advance compared to arc-faut breakers.

I would like to mention that the test and reset buttons are very hard to depress compared to your typical gfci receptacle

This isnt necessary a bad thing but worth mentioning

Basically you need to use a pen or something similar as opposed to your fingers

No room in the electrical box to add the new breakers

I dont own a sophisticated afci tester and there is considerable debate if any afci test other than the test button is valid but do own a fancy gfci tester and was a bit disappointed these devices dont support both afci and gfci protection as that seems like it would provide maximum overall safety

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

I believe there are dual afcigfci breaker style devices available

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

Afci protection seems like a step up for fire safety but afci only protection seems like a step down from gfci protection of people from shocks

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

It seems like most of the electronics needed for afci is the same as gfci current sense microcontroller and its just the microcontroller programming thats different so why doesnt the programming do both
