This plug in unit is wonderful. It doesn't hog the outlet, and has a retractable plug. Rechargable; i always know it's ready in the outlet.

The flashlight is good for finding one's way into or out of a darkened space or performing tasks such as resetting a breaker. It lights when there is no electricity automatically, and the bottom part turns into a flashlight quite good.

The leviton has an amber night light. It is much easier on the eyes than the usual white light that i am accustomed to. The only thing i don't like that was not disclosed is that the night light is an amber yellow color.

When the power goes out my iphone lights up to indicate a charging status change. There is a setting for an auto night light. It has a non polarized plug so the night light can point up or down.

Cons

Low powered, old fashioned led. Optics ensures that no light gets out the sides. Overall it throws maybe 5-10% of the total light that a good 1 watt led does.

Cons:- i would like it even more hidden, so that it blended in with the wall.

If you have to walk around the house to find a real flashlight you will like this product.

The cost of this items makes it worthwhile to buy several.

So keep one of these levitron night lights around on each floor and use it to find better flashlights in a power outage.

Hopefully they won't dim out soon like some of the competitors' reviews say.
