Pros

The alarm is super loud and piercing! It's easy to operate, loud when activated and not difficult to store in your luggage. The belle hop is definitely louder.

Comes with batteries so you don't have to buy any, it's literally ready to go and use right out of the package. Easy to use and very practical. Inexpensive security for home or travel.

The alarm is loud and will alert you to an unwanted entry. Without knocking. A friend uses it on the front door of her apartment and feels secure that she'll know, and be ready if someone enters while she's in the back.

Cons

Don't buy this item. The volume of the alarm is non-existent. One is a tom, and you could pop a balloon directly over his head, and he wouldn't even blink. Maybe just mine was defected.
