Pros & Cons

Pros

The piston key lock is convenient for threading zipper pulls, like on backpacks. While this won't stop a thief with a large cutter, it will keep most people out of your stuff.

Cons

The key can be removed even if the cable is not latched. The feature is only really useful for locks that are permanently attached to the luggage. It's mostly ok for simple things like locking zippers on a backpack.

Steel braided cable threads easily through the zippers and snaps into the lock which you can open with the key.

Price

Packaging/appearance

Note: the packaging is designed to shred as you open the lock, so don't buy it if you think there's a chance you might want to return it.

I also want to mention that the packaging has a prop 65 warning, in case that's important to anyone.

Competitiveness

You can then feed this back through the zippers on your bag (tested on a timbuk2 wheeled travel case) and insert it back into t...  Read More
