Black section is a plastic sleeve that can be slid up to protect the usb plug. The lexar fingerprint jump drive is excellent. Feels robust, love the sliding cover.
The fingerprint scanner works really well, every time. No problems recognising my thumbprint. The screen helpfully shows you what section of the finger it would like next.
Sure enough that was now useable and is the secure drive. Bit aes, so very secure and something i currently trust. The operation of the encryption is smooth.
Cons
It did not display the file on the drive to allow setup. It * file explorer denying opening of other folders. It blocked opening of other apps such as internet explorer. It would not allow safe removal of the stick and blocked shut down of the laptop.... Read More

I turns out it had and i very pleased with it so far.
There are no printed instructions with the device and all you need to do is plug it in and follow the prompts which appear automatically.
It's a great memory stick, and well priced too, given the quality of build and the attraction of secure data storage.
The fingerprint scanner works really well, every time.
Packaging/appearance
Small and reasonably robusthanging hole for lanyardvery fastwhat's not:the packaging is almost un-openable.
Note that, when recording your fingerprint, you have to press your finger onto the reader briefly but several times when prompted.
Competitiveness
Simple to use software, great price compared to other alternative methods of encryption.
After reading the manual online in regards to setup, getting this running was a doddle.

One partition has the device utility on board that encrypts to your finger print

Great device and easy to use register up to 10 finger prints you can split the drive into a public area that anyone can access and a private area you need to scan your fingerprint to access
