Pros

Slight yellowish ghosting on text with white backgrounds at 144hz, but goes away at lower refresh rates. Has slightly more ips glow in the bottom left corner but 90% of the time it’s not noticeable.

Cons

Display port is famous for having power management issues. It's a tremendous annoyance that creates problems in multi-monitor situations. Worked flawlessly for about 6 hours on day 1.

The reason amazon can't keep them in stock is that they are getting tons of returns. Going to return them both for refunds and go with another brand. The second one was returned to amazon for a refund while the first one was sent to lg for repair.

Lg support is nonexistent and i can't even have the conversation to troubleshoot the matter. They can't do anything beyond the typical geek squad kind of support meant for technically illiterate people.

It had a gaming mode, and some performance modes, and the amount of ghosting i was made me motion sick while playing games.

Yeah spending $1000+ bucks hurt but the amount of joy this thing brings me is priceless.

Expensive but amazing for work and gaming.

I got this for 958 usd w/taxes.

Is quite honestly a disappointment for a monitor this expensive.

Shipping

It shipped fast and arrived in perfect condition.

Cross-shipping was not an option (i asked) which is very disappointing.

Thankfully, lg will repair it free of charge, they’ll even pay shipping.

Packaging/appearance

But it came in intact, from what i can see so far.

Monitor came in excellent condition (the listing said the box was damaged) and i know i’ll be getting many years of use out of it.

Competitiveness

This monitor is excellent and rivals monitors well above its price point.

It has very good contrast for an ips panel (much better than the dell s2721dgf that i owned previously.

No difference between the sister model 83b-a other than the 83b-a has no cables included.

But i'll be frank, a $50 monitor arm from amazon will be superior to the included stand in all respects.
