Pros

Lg bh-100 multi format player plays all formats without a hitch. All my hi-def tvs now have this player connected to them via hdmi cables. If the movie is on both hd-dvd and blu-ray, it's the same exact 1080p movie in different packaging.

Cons

Product support for lg is non-existent. Lg has not supported anything other than windows 2000 or xp for downloads. It balks all the time and is very unforgiving of scratches or fingerprints on a disc.

I was lucky because i bought this player a 100 dollars cheaper here than what it is going now.

I guess that says how good of a machine this is (although $1600 is far too high).

Delivery time it took to get here.

I called lg for the update disc and they said it would take up to ten days to get to me and i got it in 4 days.

Packaging/appearance

Now i got one box to play my digital media in the best presentation presently possible.

If the movie is on both hd-dvd and blu-ray(lets say top gun for example), it's the same exact 1080p movie in different packaging.

While it still looked good, t whe ps3 bd image was always a little grainy (though not as noticeable to my wife!

Competitiveness

It uses qdeo processing, which is very similar to hqv processing.

Personally, i like this boxier design than the more round-edge samsung player, and gotta love the buttons.

Unless you compare the on and off side by side, you wouldn't notice when you first use it.

I decided to purchase this player instead of the samsung combo player.
