Pros

At 12000 btu this cools very fast. Has a built in on/off timer, small footprint and works on 115 volts. Energy saver mode saves me money on my electricity bill.

Just had to frame in the smaller sleeve. It looks great through my walls in my sleeve.

Cons

The unit is loud, makes a pulsing noise. It makes a rattling sound when put on setting 1 for the fan speed. When the compressor kicks on and off, it creates a very loud * noise.

This unit never shuts off unless you turn it all the way off, as in no power. Barely cools the room off.

To say i am * off is an understatement. The controls are so small that you almost need a magnifying glass to read them.

Intake grille' and 'air discharge' are both cracked and damaged. Fins are very easily damaged. It appears box smashed them in.

Packaging/appearance

I didn't order a sleeve but had one for the playroom still new in the box.

The unit came with a trim kit and a mesh grille that make it look neat and sleek.

Competitiveness

That said, when i needed a replacement for the older unit that finally died in my apartment, this lg was the most economical.

Compared to their window counterparts, they tend to command a much higher price.

It works about as well as i expected it to work, and it was better priced than other similar units.
