Pros

More interesting i use it 90% of the time for reviewing construction / engineering drawings and it is awesome. Great pbp feature. Picture in picture is fun for playing mindless games (repetitive tasks in rpgs like cooking, harvesting etc.

It's a great monitor with some caveats that may or may not matter to you depending on your set up. It is a bit overpowering on my desk, but looks a lot clearner than 3 separate monitors. Very easy to setup.

The decent sounding speakers (for a monitor)- the screen is matte- simple menus, works like a monitor (instead of a tv)- 43 inch is goldilocks for 4k. I am blown away by the sound quality of this monitor.

Cons

Just beeps, no picture, no menu. Now i am out of monitor for a week and not sure when lg is going to fix it.

The deal breaker for the g8 is not just the price. The neo g7 has a contrast ratio of 1,000,000:1. Lg support is a joke.

Subsampling method makes text appear lower resolution that it should. Anti gloss matte on the screen made the picture quality suffer due to it being kinda thick. This monitor is very erratic in what resolutions it offers a mac running macos 11.

Price

This monitor for the price and size is a great deal.

If you can get it when it is on sale, it is a 100% bargain.

However, i waited until it became on sale on amazon and bought it when it went on sale for under $500.

Packaging/appearance

Box and packaging was a little beaten up but functional.

I don't regret getting it, but this fact was not transparent and i scoured the entry looking for it.
