I went and bought a wd black 4tb from best buy and had the same issue.

This case upgrade is designed to work for lancool 2 cases only which makes me wonder if the was the installation issue some people have noted in other reviews

So i returned the wd black and replaced with a wd blue 4tb

Worked almost as intended but for some reason the middle hard drive wouldnt read until multiple insertions finally recognized the hard drive so far its working but i am afraid to remove the hard drive cause it might no recognized it again
