Yes they could be of a higher quality, but at less than a dollar a set these are a good deal.
I think it is very reasonably priced!
I don't understand why so many people had problems with this product.
The only thing i can think of is they (the people that broke the screws) over torqued the screw when installing the product.

One recommendation when installing treat these as you would brass screws they are not high grade steel nor do they need to be as they are not supporting any weight

If the screw gets too tight before its seated properly stop and back it out

If the screw hole is too big insert a piece of straw from a broom or a toothpick into the hole and try again

The magnets are strong the steel strike plates are generous their design intelligent with indented corners making 1 screw sufficient
