Pros
This cap is easier to clean, and more durable that the original cap. After a year with the normal screw on, screw off cap, this thing is beautiful. And it still has the iconic handle!
The water flows into my mouth effortlessly and the cap closes nice and snug. The old one would leak everywhere when the bottle was turned over.

Cons
Water bottle is very difficult to drink from due to the way the straw is connected. It requires an uncomfortable amount of suction. The seal on the spout lid is flawed, also.
The lid pops open by itself after a few minutes. There's a part of the silicone on the inside of the lid that seems to be plugging up an air hole. Cleaning is an issue- it looks like this has high mold potential long-term.
Item is not as pictured either. The pivoting is very strange as well.

I liked the smaller, spouted lids with the silicone top.
That is unlikely to happen with the rigid plastic of this new lid.
That's either very poor engineering or very poor quality control.
Price
As soon as the price comes back down.

----------------------------as soon as i took my new flip cap out of the package, i put it on my bottle.
Competitiveness
I like this so much better than the round, water bottle top.

Also if its knocked over while the lid is opened much less liquid will spill out

This feature is important to me because one evening as i attempted to replace the old standard lid an exuberant cat headbutted my hand knocking over the bottle and over half a bottle of water flooded into my laptop

For users with small mouths the cap that came with the bottle lets water dribble from the side given how wide it is

The old lid was had a cap fashioned of flimsy plastic

Over time it just couldnt hold up to the strain of use and i easily poked a hole through it with my finger
