Pros

This straw is very lightweight and as such it will be easy to add to my backpacking gear. Less bulky than the original plastic lifestraws much easier to slip into a pack pocket or emergency kit. At least as important as those if the unthinkable happen...  Read More

Sturdy metal construction with a slim plastic carry case. Size is long and wide, and should be stored upright in a case. Nice case and instructions on how to use and store it.

It's like sipping a smoothie through a straw. It’s similar in diameter to those straws for b tea and only a bit longer. Bigger than even a large boba straw.

Its primary utility lies in providing a safe drinking option when other sources are unavailable. The included instructions are very good. Keep in mind when deciding whether to buy a straw filter or some other type of filter is how you expect to need t...  Read More

Quality

Good product with reliable filtration and durable stainless steel construction.

The filtration is impressively effective, instantly improving taste and eliminating harmful contaminants.

The filter is not replaceable like other lifestraw options.

What can i say, sucky water no longer sucks when sucking through this straw!

Price

Priced around $30, it represents a worthwhile investment for travelers and campers alike.

It is a great value and a fantastic technology.

A bit pricey but in the end you really need it.

Expensive but clean water on the go is priceless!

Packaging/appearance

Everything from the packaging to the actual experience of drinking through this felt very deliberate and well thought-out.

The carrying case made it easy to pack in a bag and carry around.

The box didn't have any sort of tamper proofing.

Although i see some flaws, i also consider what the straw delivers in such a relatively small package: access to clean drinking...  Read More

These things are really best for shortterm emergencies and not for prolonged need or use

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

They are not pleasant to drink out of since it requires so much suction force to pull the water through all of the filter that it will practically loosen all of your teeth

Still for emergencies they are good

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

You never know when an emergency may arise that require you to drink from dirty pools of water

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

I will admit i did not use this lifestraw because why drink out of a dirty puddle when you have bottled water but i have used lifestraws in the past and on camping trips and the original lifestraw worked like charm so no reason this shouldnt

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

Its basically the same filter in a new shape

Posted by a reviewer on Amazon

I have several filters but they aren’t as convenient as these straws for my bags
