Have had it up and rolling for 1 month now. It functions just fine without the pin, just not ideal. Even so, nobody beats lifetime customer service.
Use of a screw driver was needed to help assist getting these clips into place. Assembly is very difficult and time consuming, but the result is worth it. Assemble the rest outdoors.

Cons
Once it is half-full it is very heavy. Then compost juice leaks out everywhere. Don't be fooled by the lifetime name. Save yourself some anguish and drill a few holes in an outdoor garbage can as a compost bin.
Both were completely rusted shut after a few months. Latches rust, corner brackets fall off, and falls apart a little over a year since purchase. Lifetime indicates on their website 5 year warranty that does not cover rusting.

Im copying my review from the earlier model oddly still called the 60072 model that i posted because i saw this new model got off to a rough start with a couple bad reviews and ive been really impressed with this composter after 1 year of regular use
