Pros & Cons
Pros
If you want to be active with your kiddo's i think this set up is hard to beat. The hoop is a great addition to our back yard. We find it very easy to adjust height for different age players.
This takes time (unless you have a backhoe and a cement mixer or are a professional digger) if your ground is too hard, a bit of windex and a paper towel and a ladder cleans this up easy. Only problem is that there are basically no instructions on how... Read More
Follow the instructions on mixing cement carefully. It requires a firm foundation, and you'll either have to bolt it into a concrete pad or a similarly anchor friendly surface. When it comes to cement, it's very important that you follow directions ca... Read More
It's narrow so it's easier to maneuver and handle heavy materials. It's all glass and steel, and doesn't offer any real limitations.
Cons
The box was opened clearly and then just thrown back together. I get about halfway through and come to a piece that is completely bent.
Highlights
Quality
This is solid and well built and a huge step up from plastic water ballasted goals.
Great set up and easy installation, two people for the early process, will need 3 people to raise the system at the end.
- the crank handle cover broke during assembly (see picture).
It was clumsy and awkward at times.
Price
Overall, this is a great unit for the price and it's definitely an upgrade from the cheap, portable hoop that i had before.
Self install vs paying- installation jobs for this run between two and five hundred dollars.
I got these at lowes for around $50.
It is a good value for your money.
Packaging/appearance
I really liked that the nuts and bolts were divided up into individual packets for each step of the assembly process.
However our sandy yard has packed enough to dribble on.
Competitiveness
Pros:- compared to similar models on the market, this is a great price for a fair-quality unit.
(dont let this be a deal breaker tho as this is going to be consistent no matter what brand you buy.
It’s not that complicated once you figure it out - i found a youtube video from a competitor that uses the same basic base desi... Read More
It's also a 4" pole, which is less than some other models that have 5" or 6" poles.
