Not sure if the backpack i received was defective or if this is just a poorly made product.

The little pads slip off the pack if you leave it unclasped so you'll have to put them back on.

Competitiveness

I will be switching to a mountainsmith medium dog pack.

There's nothing worse than standing in 90 degree heat & sun trying to tighten or loosen straps on a wriggly dog.

We fill each side with a ziplock bag filled with ~2 cups of dry rice.

I have a 55lb dog and a med fit pretty good.
