Pros

I love this book for the same reason some people probably hate it, it's strong theoretical approach. The author is humorous. It is really quite enjoying reading this book. The publishing material of the book is solid.

The current 4th edition of linear algebra and its applications has been updated relative to the 3rd edition (1991) it's easy to follow the logical flow in those texts, and that can sometimes be reassuring. My only complaint is why is this not on kindl... Read More

Strang's book is a waste of time (even if you're interested in applied linear algebra! I think that it's a bad book to teach numerical analysis (as someone suggested).

The tone throughout this book is strictly informal. The exposition in each section feels incomplete.

I bought this book and used it as a resource for both and it was worth every penny.

My first complaint about this book is it is too expensive.

No no if you want to just refresh some concepts because it's too expensive.
