I think it interferes with the tempurpedic mattress which becomes softer with body heat.

Cant really tell if the cooling element works all that well but it has provided a good amount of comfort especially considering it is only 1 inch thick

On top of it was a 3 inch memory foam pad but it still was quite unpleasant
