Pros & Cons
Pros
They have the clarity i was hoping/looking for while not sacrificing a good, balanced sound. There is a small amount of shoutiness with male vocals but it doesn't detract from enjoyment. The v-shaped tuning is somewhat divisive but i prefer it to the ... Read More
The included case feels/looks kinda cheap, but it works. The nozzles are a little long, but after trying different tips and settling on spinfit 100+, they are more comfortable.
The quintet is the outlier set that i thought i'd only use in niche cases. After using for a while tho it sounds better to me.
Cons
This significantly detracts from the overall user experience. Details are lackluster at best. These have absolutely no business being 220.
Boring sound signature and very closed in soundstage. Value proposition of the earphone becomes questionable.
Highlights
Quality
Very good bass that extends to the mid range, very detailed, impressive soundstage and imaging, the treble is good as well.
The build quality is solid, with a 3d-printed shell and a detachable cable that seems durable and minimizes microphonic noise.
I have very sensitive ears and this set does not sound harsh or too bright in any way.
This is not the case with these transducers (as i understand it these 12mm planars were developed in house).
Price

Competitiveness

While the melody may not be as refined as some high-end alternatives that cost 2-3 times as much, it provides an amazing listen... Read More
If you want to spend even less but want a similar experience, check out the kz pr2 (2-3 times cheaper).
The control is phenomenal and i would describe it as similar to sennheiser if anyone has owned that brand but it's not as flat.
