The other posts were correct about the train derailing

At first we tried setting up the track on top of the tree skirt which is thick and lumpy so the train would easily derail

Also dont set the track directly on carpet it doesnt provide enough stability

I am still not happy with the transformerit looks heavy duty but it has some welldocumented flaws including needing a service call even for something as simple as a blown fuseand it apparently does tend to blow fuses

They paid for the shipping too so it didnt cost us anything to get the set replaced when the transformer died
