Pros
The tracks snap together, and are tricky. Larger gauge set is really visible under the tree and is so festive! It has a great headlight on the locomotive engine!
My only real complaint is the incessant beeping when the remote is turned off. But the train is definitely cool.
Cons
The train is noisy. If you use the remote the train makes a beeping noise until you turn it back on or go to it and switch it off. The train obnoxiously beeps if it is switched on and not paired to the remote.
The train jumps the tracks every time we play with it, no matter how we situate the train. Re-aligning the wheel on the track has to be done very precisely, but the grooves to align on are very narrow, so resetting is frustrating.

Lower cost than an electric train made it easy to purchase.
At this rate its going to cost a fortune to run this things!
Packaging/appearance
The straight track is in a brown box that almost looks as if it is a spacer in the main box.
I wish there was some disclaimer on the box or in the ad that the train did not produce smoke.

There are pieces you can attach to the connectors that keep my train together when it runs off my rug onto the hardware floor
