The bottom part is spaced so it doesnt block the speakers and its sturdy so that my phone never tips over i have the iphone 13

Having the cord loop on the back makes it less likely to pull out if accidentally bumped also puts less pressure on your port to reduce any physical damage from long term use while plugged in
