So be sure to use you hand and support the band to keep it square with the block.
At this point use your hand to push the piston in or like i did knock it in with the plastic handle of a deadblow mallet.

Been building engines for years and years this is one of the best tools to install piston rings in a bore and the cost is very agreeable
Packaging/appearance
Oh and most auto parts stores sell this exact same compressor down to the packaging for $30.

Put new pistons and rings in my ford 8-n worked great just get it good and tight.

Only had to reset twice from the compressor lifting off of the cylinder face user error it happens with any compressor

Unlike the car motors i’ve rebuilt where you drop the pistons into the block and tighten the connecting rods from the underside the rod ends aren’t accessible from underneath so you have to install the rodspistons on the crank 1st and drop the cylinder block on top of them

Be aware that there is at least one imported knockoff of this tool that may be made improperly

The sharp side was incorrectly assembled so the ragged edge faced the ringswhich would have destroyed them as the piston slid down the compressor into the cylinder

I worked for 3 hours with a standard piston ring compressor and got no pistons installed
