This tool is too big and awkward to maneuver back there. Broke, won't keep grip on boot. Would be useful for recessed plugs with straight access. Does not grip.

Ive had trouble removing spark plug wires on my ford 460 engine

They tended not come loose from the plugs unless i pulled enough to tear out the connector

Just hook the base of the plug boot and pull

The motor never had any major work so it had the sheet metal heat shields around the spark plugs and the boots were varnished to the insulators of the plugs the plugs were unbelievably worn

The jaws are not padded and they are relatively thin so although i had some difficulty getting the jaws around the boot due to interference with the sheet metal heat shield i was able to twist the boot right and left and eventually pull it off the plug

If your spark plugs are in a narrow spot this tool will not work out look for something else

Even if the pliers are off slightly at the end of the boot it will pull the boot off without tearing it etc

I did have to remove the air cleaner housing to get to the right bank cylinder spark plug bootswires
