Needed, but i feel if you really want get value for you money buy 2 cause 1 is not enough especially if you have big feet.

The included hammer might as well have come out of a christmas cracker but i have a heavy hand so it got sorted

Was pretty clumsy to assemble to start with then i got the hang of it and it went up easy after that
