Pros

The lixit feeding syringe is a wonderfully sturdy syringe. The tip is big enough for a smoothie or baby food consistency to pass through. Cleaning the syringe is pretty easy.

This product is awesome and recommendable to everyone. Oil helps keep the stopper from drying out. Works well enough in a pinch, after all.

Cons

The plunger sticks, is impossible to draw up liquid with one hand, and equally impossible to depress the plunger with any control of the food coming out. This syringe is for liquids, not for food. Use that to buy a better syringe.

The verbiage says it's suitable for small animals. May be better suited for large parrot offspring but not fir use with smaller birds.

The inserted rubber has ni friction when pulling and pushing the lever.

Food just drips out of it and when getting any into the cats mouth it’s a lot and can be dangerous if they choke or aspirate.

Price

This item is handy and for the price, it is a single-season use item.

Overall they are cheap and effective - helped save my kitties life during a battle with hepatic lipidosis.

Wish they wouldn't run out so often or see their price go up off amazon.

Packaging/appearance

These are 35ml and and i only have to pack it a few times unlike the small feeders with the larger opening.

Competitiveness

Unfortunately, i don't know what the better brand i've used was, because it had been given to me by a prior vet.

Unlike other brand, it gets stuck and break and unable to remove the rubber once it get stuck.

If i can't find a better feeding syringe on the market, though, then i'd use this lixit one.
