I find that the key to a successful repair is thorough cleaning of the surfaces soap then water then aclohol thorough drying after cleaning i usually let the boots dry for 24 hours then application of glue and applying pressure i usually wrap the repaired boot area in duct tape or clamp if possible and finally let the repair cure for 24 hours before using the item
