Pros
The longer you use this pot the more seasoned it will become. Arrived ahead of time, and was shipped well packaged. Rust is not a big problem.
Lodge is an excellent brand for cast iron products. I have my mom’s cast iron skillet that her mother-in-law gave her back in the 1950's, they last forever. Lodge products are excellent quality and never disappoint.
Cons
The oven seems to always bake bread with a burned, black bottom crust. This makes me question spending more for lodge cast iron products and i will likely purchase another less costly brand to replace this dutch oven.
Both the inside and outside already look rusty in spots. Basically rusted after washing with just water. Orangish colored liquid looks like dead cockroach shells renders pot completely useless.
It's not worth the time, money and aggravation to return it. Requested refund. Amazon indicates on their website to contact lodge however lodge then advised that i must go thru amazon to seek resolution.

But this has also been great for any soups i've made, especially soups like chicken and dumplings that needs to go in the oven afterwards.

Because the lid also doubles as a skillet there’s no knob on the top to grab and lift the lid off
