The 5 quart is close to 10 inches wide at the bottom but a 9 inch basket will fit perfectly with about onehalf inch clearance on all sides of the basket

The basked is too shallow and the handle wont fold down when you have it in the dutch oven

I do not think the handle is flimsy at all it clicked into place and stayed there

I tried lodge baskets but they are designed so they can only be used if a very shallow pad no more than 3 or 4 inches certainly not in a dutch oven that i use for deep frying having ordered and returned 3 electric deep fryers because they had defective thermostats

The chinese need to learn how to make an accurate thermostat or the parent companies need to design a decent one
