Pros & Cons
Pros
It is snug enough to stay on while wielding lodge's relatively heavy 12 inch skillet. Versatile, it fits all of my cast iron fry pans and is quickly interchangeable. Easily move your pan from burner to burner or to the table.
This holder is so much better looking than the silicone holders it replaced. The holder is made from heavy duty leather and is also attractive. This sleeve is a work of art!
It functions as advertised and looks great doing it. Does the job. Over all excellent quality.
Cons
Leather part is well made and stitched but what the heck is the center? It seams like a tightly stacked pile of heat proof fibers. The inner fabric [inside the leather to slip the handle into] is too soft and makes for an awkward grasp.
The insulation fits too tight at the top, and is sloppily stitched narrower at the *. When you try and put it on a pan the insulation bunches up and mashes into a ball.
Highlights
Quality
Quality is good but is more a nice to have item .
I am totally pleased with the lodge handle cover!
With the pans as hot as can be this thing only gets a tiny bit warm and i can tell it will last as long as the pans will!
Packaging/appearance
We wanted to like it, and it may have softened up with use, but the silicone felt better right out of the package.
Competitiveness
We used it on our 12in cast iron skillet.
It’s got a good grip it’s super comfortable and it’s good-looking too!
