Pros

It fits snuggly in the handle of the matfer pan i just bought. Perfect fit for my 12 tramontina fry pan. If the fit is good i think you will like it on any cast iron or steel skillet.

The grip slides on and holds firmly, but is also readily removable. I love our alclad cookware, but not the handles which get hot. Plus it digs into your hand while hot.

Only downside is that on the 8 inch pan it outweighs the cooking surface and tips the pan over until you put something in it. Using a kitchen towel is of course nearly as convenient and a whole lot cheaper, but this does make the experience of using t...  Read More



Cons

Other gotham steel skillets have nice handles which do not get hot. However, their small skillet has a thin metal handle and it gets hot. The lodge handle holder negates this benefit.

The issue is that the handle is very wide and flat, which makes it extremely uncomfortable to hold without a grip.

    You need to kind of pinch it like a chinese finger trap or else the groove is too tight on the handle and sticks too much when putting it on or taking it off
