Pros & Cons
Pros
The lodge handle holder does exactly as they are suppose to. It isolates my hand from the hot handle of the skillet its being used on. It stays on the handle and doesn't fall off or something.
It fits the small pans loosely, and the 8 pan well. This is the shorter one about 3-4 inches for the shorter handle tha comes with the 12 grill pan. This size is perfect for my 8 inch pan and frees up the larger version for my bigger handle.

The silicone is flimsy and it doesnt actually keep the handle that cool. After cooking, it's super hot to the touch so i still have to use an oven glove or something. My wife has sensitive hands & it burns her.

Yes, you do pay more for the lodge brand, but like their pans and cookware it is worth it.
Shipping
I sent him this the day i found out and he loves it.
Packaging/appearance
Wifey ordered a lodgestone sauce pot and saw a handle cover afterwards … ordered and now i don’t have to wear gloves!
Competitiveness
I bought the lodge silicone hot handle holder as a replacement from a cheaper brand that did not work.
I can deal with it, but i don't need a pan handle to be the "cooking gets things hot" lesson.
