Pros

It heats up well, and retains heat while braising. All the flavours are in it, and the consistence is just perfect. I use it to make sourdough bread and the breads turn out amazing.

Great dutch oven. Great value when on sale. And is an excellent gift.

This pot (6qt) is definitely for for a family sized meal! Did a very job of making stew/hearty soup. Perfect size to roast a whole chicken.

Clean up was a breeze. The colour is muted and classic.

The lodge enameled dutch oven is a very good quality enamelled cast iron cookware. No stains, enamel shows no sign of wearing, heats up fairly evenly. It's to be expected with cast iron.

Cons

Came damaged. One whole front piece was completely chipped and gauged. Edging looks very unfinished. Why is the rim not enameled like the rest of the pan?

Lodge seems to have a good reputation for the rest of their cast iron cookware and bakeware and the price was just too good to pass up.

In this case we got a great price.

Competitiveness

Better than products that are twice the price!

Not easy to find dutch ovens to withstand temperatures up to 500f.

I was looking at more expensive brands but could not justify the extra expense ($500 +).

Otherwise it’s a great pot for the price.
