Pros

The enamel coating is very nice. The lid has a metal knob (important). I'm on sourdough loaf 5 and i always preheat to 500 f.

Cooks evenly and very easy to clean. Great for applesauce, cooking meats, meatballs, and pulled pork. The only downside is the surface area at the base.

Verry happy with the product (a softer creamy white vs stark white). She was thrilled with the beautiful colour and large size of the pot. I choose the oyster white as it’s a nice neutral colour to match my other dishes. It's incredibly solid and quit...  Read More

Cons

The lid is, in fact, not self-basting (as advertised). Enamel was heavily chipped on the inside at delivery. The black rim on the pot is matte porcelain, not exposed cast iron.

The colour is absolutely nothing like the photo. Since the selling feature for me was the colour, it is not worth the money - especially since you can get an amazonbasics replica for less than half the price. Going to order a staub from costco instead...  Read More

Quality

It is well made, eat to clean, and the food cooks really evenly.

Very heavy, sturdy and a nice colour.

This thing is built like a tank and can cook anything.

Missing paint at the rim of the pot

Price

Excellent price for a lodge dutch oven.

Good value made my first loaf of artisan bread.

Great price point and i may purchase one for myself.

Shipping

Ordered during prime day, and still came quite quickly.

Packaging/appearance

Purchased red lodge coated cast iron dutch oven (6 qrt) - came double boxed which ensured no damage.

Well packaged, beautiful solid finish, and great red colour.

Competitiveness

I've used many in my life and this easily compares with the best at a 1/3 of the cost.

You may decide to spend two to three times as much for the european named alternatives, but functionally thislodge pot is their equal.

This dutch oven has metal that is thicker than another one that i have from a well known brand - i like that.
