It's beautiful and cooked my chili to meaty, stewy perfection. It makes fantastic loaves of round bread with a crispy crust and soft middle. Large cobblers or cakes or brownies.

This lodge enameled cast iron dutch oven is everything it is supposed to be. It's sturdy, as cast iron is, but the enamel durability pleasantly took me by surprise. The enamel coating is smooth and unblemished. I also have one of their skillets.

Enamel was flaked on opening the package too late to return. Exterior appears to have become discolored after use. Chipped handle after first use and gentle hand washing.

I ordered the desert sage dutch oven thinking it would be the interesting creamy sage as is pictured, but it is a solid green sage.
