Pros

Every kitchen needs one. It lets the air out and keeps the grease in. Keeps the grease from burning you when you fry stuff without a shirt on. Use it when frying bacon.

There is one spot where the rim and adjacent mesh have discolored, but it doesn't appear to be corrosion. Shows no signs of any type of rust or corrosion. Cleans up ok in the dishwasher, no problem.

Only the handle seems flimsy. It is lightweight so removing it isn't a problem. I plan to make a small potholder sleeve to slide over the handle.

Lodge splatter screen is an excellent performer. Appears to be of the same quality as a 10 year old 11 splatter screen i was replacing. The mesh is fine and it does a great job of capturing spatter.

Cons

This splatter screen is very disappointing. It is super flimsy, and is obviously made to break at the welds. The handle is flimsily attached to the ring and of course broke soon.

Lodge needs to do a better job of checking product quality before shipping junk to their customers. I believe that when someone is fairly compensated for labor, a better crafted longer lasting item is the result.

Simple quality product that cleans well in the dishwasher and does the job.

I might expect just a little better quality from lodge but they are known for making pans after all.

Price

It gets the job done and it is a cheap price.

No screen test needed, this product is worth the cost.
