Pros & Cons
Pros
Just the right weight and thickness. Sides are high enough to be versatile. Sturdy, perfect for deep fry.
A little sanding and reseasoning and it is like teflon. Just like a non-stick but no fragile/scratchy surface to worry about.
Cast iron cooks so evenly and never warps. If you want to try out cast iron pan, this is a good size to start.
Pre-seasoned as described and ready to go. Very trendy now and so great to use for cooking. Now i roast my vegetables in it because it fits in my counter top convection oven.
Cons
The skillet has a textured surface, and the rim has a portion that was sanded down by some machine, and has a brown rust? I find this makes food stick more. Don’t fall for the “pre-seasoned” ad.
Highlights
Quality
Cast iron cooks so evenly and never warps.
Great quality as i have always experienced.
It won’t rust or have food stick to it over time either like our other non-stick frying pans we had.
My usual process after cooking with this pan is to wait for it to cool down, and then scrub off any remaining food with a brush.
Price
The relative price has gone up, but the quality has also improved.
Packaging/appearance
It was thrown into a cardboard box without much protection and it survived.
Seems to be a very strong durable skillet since the way it was packaged was pathetic.
