Pros & Cons
Pros
This pan is my absolute fav right now. We have probably 5 or 6 other frying pans and this one is our favorite. Overall, if you're not a gordon ramsey wanna-be (who reqires the best) this series of lodge carbon steels will likely do just fine for you.
Compared with the higher priced imported carbon steel pans, this pan is a better value. While the lodge carbon steel is heavier than my previous cheaper carbon steel pan, this one is so durable. Performance for weight is unbeatable.
Cons
Beware, buyers -- forewarned is forearmed. Kind of disappointed with the * quality and having to waste time going to kohl's to return this one. Manufacturer needs to stick with cast iron, where they are the definitive experts.
I love lodge cast iron pans and dutch ovens, but this steel pan is a loser. This makes it impossible to make perfectly centered eggs and delicate thin omelettes. Even after following instructions to a tee, we’re left with a not so ‘non-stick’ pan.
Highlights
Quality
This is my go to pan (i have six different cast iron/carbon steel pans), heavy use, daily, and it has held up exceptionally well.
Easy to maintain and the pan should last a lifetime.
Once it was used and washed and oiled a couple of times pan became part of our regular tools.
No toxic "non-stick" surface of wonder-chemicals that turn out to be cancer-causing decades later.
Price
This gave me a pan that eggs slide around in for way less money.
Overall at this price point its a good light versatile option to high end carbon steel pans.
Alton brown likes a hand forged brand that cost $200.
Packaging/appearance
Not sure what those other folks were doing, i took this pan out of the box, put it on the stove, when it was heated i put a tin... Read More
Competitiveness

This pan is thinner than the french counterparts therefore it heats and cools more quickly .
It's light weight compared to other carbon steel pans.
