After calming down a bit, i was able to find all of the keys, minus the esc key, and they just clicked back into place.

It was supposed to be a day off

But as luck would have it the network team decided to make a breaking change to our infrastructure the day prior

I superglued the legs back onto the stubs and it was like nothing happened save my seething hatred of that email

I do not recommend this for fps type games or other games where timing is important
