Pros & Cons
Pros
The weight is a little lighter in weight, and some people complain about the cord not being braided. It definitely has a snappier feel because of it. Ergonomics for people with large hands is the best.
Mx518 and its descendants are! The mx518 has great everything. It's not a flashy mouse with a bunch of fancy options but it will last years so its worth the price. I hope you appreciate it as others have before you for its legacy.
If you're a fan of the mx510, mx518, g400 or g400s and need a replacement then this is a no brainer. I still have my old 518 from 2007 ish. I miss the marbled look that the original mx-518 had.
Cons
The * are incredibly squishy compared to the several older versions i still have. One of them just flat out loses tracking frequently. The click is super loud, there's a lot of resistance to it, and the scroll wheel feels.
I'm just thankful this happened while it was returnable. Packaging is terrible, as if it was pre-opened by another customers and sent back then repacked and sold again.
Under that plastic is a soft metal with no corrosion or abrasion resistance. It's thinner than saran wrap and can't adhere to the polished metal at all.
Highlights
Quality
If the quality is as good as the mx518 redux, it'll pretty much be a guaranteed purchase.
We will see if they still use quality parts in this mouse and it lasts a long time.
The quality on this mouse is lower than the g5; however, it’s no secret that things aren’t made as well these days to encourage... Read More
Often my fingers extend off the mouse buttons or i need to put my palm on the mouse pad or arch just to fit with the mouse.
Price
This filled the need and was a great price.
Competitiveness
I'm not saying those expensive mice aren't great, i'm just saying, as a first-time or budget-gamer, this mouse gets the job done.
I've also used deathadders, g502s and steelseries rival.
Still a good mouse for those with larger hands that favor a right-hand palm grip, but doesn't shine nearly as much in the face ... Read More
As other reviewers have mentioned, it does feel more 'plastic-y' than the original.
