Pros

It has been used for 17 years and still works perfectly. It's an amazing tool for me, and it's a * shame logitech discontinued it.

The thumbstick is the deal breaker. Once programmed, the thumbstick makes movements infinitely easier and more intuitive than the wasd configuration. Everything is in your left hand! The g13 is the ultimate gaming controller.

Cons

Logitech g13 died after three years, started flickering after two. Even with the really bad instructions, this thing is exceedingly difficult to program. I am sure that for gamers it if very cool, but they too have to remember what every key does.

The reason for this is the thumbstick switchboard has a problem with the micro switches and the button stops.

I loathe using the wsad buttons to move a character and absolutely love the thumbstick.

Now these things are expensive to find, and that should have told logitech there is still a demand for this product.

Tack on the fact that its not made anymore expect it to be more than $150 which is entirely reasonable for the features of this product.

Competitiveness

I picked up two more on the cheap when they were being clearanced before the price sky-rocketed.

Started with a nostromo and discovered controlling movement with my thumb much easier that the classic wasd set-up.

Either the other options don't have enough keys, or they don't have a thumbstick.
