The unit is defective and proven defective. There is a solution to fix this problem (a solution that will void any warranty) which is as simple as using some glue or purchasing a small replacement part.

In the end, i regret purchasing this. With either option, the wheel is effectively a large paperweight.

After four years of intermittent use, the wheel burned out.

I really like using this wheel, and surprisingly don't regret purchasing it(considering its high price tag.

Plus, i got mine new for $200 usd in 2015, and now they are going for that, or more, in 2020.

It's worth trying before spending your money on a high cost setup.

Competitiveness

Logitech made new software for their peripherals that have come out since the g27.

Which is an even older wheel from logitech with far less features.

It was past its warranty and all logitech could do was offer me a 30% discount on a new wheel that costs twice as much as this one.

I have raced cars on closed course circuits and it's very similar in gran turismo.
