Pros & Cons
Pros
The g815 combines the satisfaction of mechanical feedback with a slim profile. It offers phenomenal accuracy with low-profile mechanical switches. The battery has an amazing length of charge.
It connects fast, looks good, and gives a good feedback when typing. I love that there are * to switch between the usb dongle and bluetooth modes right on the board. Since switching to the logitech g815, this issue has been completely resolved. The on... Read More
Cons
In dota 2, when you get into the lobby, the backlit turns red and you can barely see *. Wireless is buggy, and it needs to be plugged in & unplugged repeatedly sometimes. The f1 key lighting bugs out all the time to a yellow color.
Filmy keycaps that deteriorate. The cap connector is made of cheap plastic. Surface material scrapes off and defaces the key. The keys scrape each other.
The keyboard does not have on board macros (you need software to create and run macros) it still uses micro usb and the g hub software is confusing to use. The only time these custom script macros that involve an auto text and recorded keystrokes only... Read More
Only reason to keep this is the flex of having the most expensive consumer keyboard.
Logitech doesn't have any software download or device updates for their products. Ghub software is awful. Crippled by terrible software.
Highlights
Quality
I love this keyboard , the stroke are short , rgb looks good and wireless is solid !
Good quality and function with software easy to understand and apply.
The black covering on 2 of the keys is already peeling after only a few months.
After almost 20 years of working almost exclusively on laptops with chiclet-style keys, i found most mechanical keyboards to be... Read More
Price
It really does not make sense to me that a $300 keyboard in 2022 is not using usb c, that is why i am giving this 4 star.
Wanted to buy it when it was 220$ but couldnt afford it.
I paid around $150 for it, and it's lasted all of this time.
It goes on sale quite often though, and for the discounted price i think it’s a fairly premium low profile keyboard.
Shipping
Shipping was fast and packaging was nicely done too.
Packaging/appearance
Either than that, packaged well, it works like a charm while writing this review !
Bought this renewed, but i am not sure if it has ever been used, it was nearly new in box.
Competitiveness
Beautifully constructed, really nice to type on, software is user friendly compared to other brands in this category of keyboard.
The ghub software is miles better than anything else i've used recently (asus armory crate, steelseries gg, etc.
So i finally bit the bullet and bought another logitech gaming keyboard, this one, the g815.
It would be great if logitech would introduce a variant that is a full size keyboard but without the g keys.
