I did have to replace the rechargeable aa batteries earlier this year ($8 for a 4-pack.

After some troubleshooting steps, they agreed and sent a new unit out (without any cost & without returning the defective unit).

I am sure people with more patience than me can figure out how to program this thing but i quickly gave up and paid someone to do it.

This was not the case with the much more expensive harmony touchscreen remote.
