Pros
Headset has great sound and mic quality. Weight of the headset is a bit heavy. Headset is a good alternative to a usb headset. No issues with the headset or the mic.
Like the logitech usb headset h540 a lot. That can be overlooked though, this is a great product. But otherwise decent headset.
Cons
There is no headphone noise cancellation. The microphone is too far away from your mouth.
Logitech website says it has a 2 year warranty but there is no possible way of redeeming it. This headset is broken at 6 months.
The only good thing about the h540 is that they are comfortable. They are flimsy and broke twice with little provocation. The quality of soft rubber cover material and impossibility to buy and replace it after ripped it.

Some institutions ask for usb headset only and this is a good price alternative.
Competitiveness
Good microphone quality--superior to jambra, sennheiser models of similar and higher price range.
These are better than most headsets out there, including ones in the $99 price range.
